Books and Related Matters

One of the difficulties of living a long way from English-speaking countries is that even large libraries and bookshops generally only have the most important and the more general English-language books.  Even the large number of libraries and bookshops in Berlin can not afford to hold or stock highly specialised works.  Until recently the process of ordering tended to be very time-consuming, delivery generally took months, and I paid a high premium on the normal bookshop price.

The Internet has changed all that dramatically.  This section of the website discusses
